Here is a 3 1-2"H reddish brown glass squirrel with painted white tummy, little hands lifted to mouth in the nut-eating position. From England's Langham Glass ca 1990s, imprint (unseen here) on bottom

Very sweet- AND he's a red squirrel, which have a lovely autumnal colour. :P
I've seen very similar glass sculpture before? He kinda looks like he's praying too? Its the slightly hunched pose and his paws clasped together- maybe he's praying for loads more acorns to fall?
The American red squirrel is variously known as the pine squirrel, North American red squirrel and chickaree. I kinda' like the chickaree name. Looks like this little chickaree is ready for a nut :)
very cute ....
Many thanks friends for the kind love

You know Lauren you're absolutely right, they seem to always put glass squirrels in this very similar pose, I guess because in real life unless they are flying by in a rush or scrambling up a tree, when they pause it's usually for a snack! They have a funny life, digging away in summer to bury their food, then in autumn & winter the yard is full of holes cause they forgot where they stashed it (so they steal other squirrels' food & vice versa :). Great fun comment thanx so much
Hoot thanks for your super comment and red squirrel info, sent me off reading and confirmed my thoughts, we don't have this type squirrel in the NY area I've only seen the grays here - and those red tails are so cool, love to see one (hey maybe once these travel bans are lifted we can see more of our country, husband & I always used to take one or two trips a yr & it's hard to be just an armchair traveler right now). I will now call this guy my little chickaree!
Roycroft appreciate your really nice comment & thinking this guy has the cute factor, agreed, I really like how Langham splashed white paint on the tummy it's very realistic showing the bits of white in their fur. Mostly we notice squirrels in Fall when they run around busily and have fuller fur, but in my area they are here year round - we live near Cedar Creek Park and parts of it are like a nature preserve, we go for local walks and sometimes encounter several squirrels at a time scurrying around and often chasing each other
Love the color, and enjoy the real ones in the yard, thanks for posting.
Lisa thank you so much for the lovely praise, I'm with you the squirrels in my yard are endlessly fascinating, my brother used to say they move in "another dimension" lol
Really appreciate the thoughtful love Lisa and iggy it means alot to me and is very nice of you

Thanks so much jb for the wonderful compliment, I think it's a pretty cute lil guy myself, perhaps posting squirrels is out of season but not in my neighborhood they're all over the place!
Karen thanx tons for your lovely compliments, I love that white painted tummy too! And as you know, Langham does some pretty cool animals, I have a couple uncommon ones coming soon, I really love their style
Aw MrsT, very kind compliment, thanks so much, it's very cute and that pose is really classic, seems they're either eating or running amuck :)
Thank you Leah for the love it is greatly appreciated!
Nice to see all that I missed. This one is so cool and the separation of the tail is wonderfu here, so subtle !~
Thank you Phil for your great comment about my Langham squirrel, he is a cutie with a great tail, and nice that I found him in a realistic color
Also thanx vcal & Giana for the love
