I found this pitcher at a Salvation Army store and invited it home. I really don't need a pitcher but I found this one interesting. When I started trying to find out what I bought, I found it to be a bit of a challenge.

I saw one on line almost identical to mine simply stating that it was a vintage pitcher. A different listing stated that it was a late Victorian item. This one seemed to be identical in shape, except that it had a milk glass base, not a clear one like mine. I also found one clear cranberry glass pitcher looking very similar in style made by Chalet Canada. On a closer look I noticed, thought, that the handle and the base were different. The name Northwood came up, as well, but although the spatter glass looked very similar, the shape was different. And there is always the possibility that it simply is a recent Chinese import. In this case the pitcher would go in to my donation box.

Any help or comments are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for looking:)

I think this is Victorian, there is far too much detail (in the feet, handle, & top rim) for a modern piece, especially for made in China. I think possibly Bohemian...

Chalet Canada, I think... Love the style and twisted handle.

Hi charcoal, thanks for your comment. I was looking into Chalet, too. The shape appears to be very similar but the proportions seem slightly different, but maybe this can be expected if the item is hand made.

Also, the number of "pedals" on the base is different from the examples I found of Chalet glass pitchers and I didn't see any marks. I believe that most Chalet pieces of this kind were marked with "CH".

The main reason, though, I thought that it might be a different maker is that there are very few examples of Chalet spatter glass around. Maybe this could explain it:

I will have to keep searching a bit longer to find out for sure.

      Sorry for being so long-winded:)

Thanks very much for the link, kivatinitz. I came across this one as well. Too bad that the seller didn't give/have more information. This is the closest one to my pitcher.

This is another pitcher with the same shape but a different finish. There is no information either, so it doesn't help: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Victorian-White-Pink-Cranberry-Spatter-Splatter-Art-Glass-Ewer-Pitch/164286741321?hash=item264040bb49:g:mh0AAOSwYPNcKDpb

This one states that it is by the Canadian company Chalet: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/706471592/rare-ch-line-chalet-art-glass-swirl?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=chalet+pitcher&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1
It has a different base/number of "pedals" and the handle is not ribbed but Chalet made pitchers with ribbed handles, too.

I am leaning towards Chalet but I am not yet 100% sure.
