I think that this is 17th c - late Ming/Transitional, but it is a bit of a mystery. There's lots of wear - little fleabites and chips around the rim, but otherwise in good condition. I think it's very beautiful.

What happened to Yop and Djisktra?
    4. truthordare truthordare, 4 years ago
they were transformed into yup and yap for a short while, now we have apostata, who is hanging in.

Wondering if this bowl is an early Japanese porcelain, with a Chinese 'the great Ming' mark, as they sometimes did, Edo period?

the board expelled them , i was and live in a hospital or institute , and my son asked the board of this site why is my father expelled, they told him because i was unfriendly

he asked me , do i have to fix this

i said no next time asked them i prefer Scaphism, i never heard of them since, probably they don,t read Plutarch any more nowadays

KAVEL 18305319 catawiki !! otherwise some experts gonna compare this with Qianlong or the Batavieren,or the Slag bij Nieuwpoort i dont know
    8. apostata apostata, 4 years ago
by the way for the experts who probably compare this AT Random with qianlong !!!!
or japanese porcelain the mark is CHenghua ( no- one noticed ,)

no one noticed the 17 century attribution ?, Chenghua is almost always Kangzhi , for honorary reasons

Hmmm.... not sure i follow all of that! This piece is definitely Ming - made under the Tianshan Emperor - Chenghua. It was one of a set of 5 and the other 4 did very well on Catawiki - right around $1000 each. The mark is Chenghua and i found a very similar one which was sold by Christie's back in 2009 for close to 10g and the signature and circles were almost identical.

the style is imperative not the mark , because the chengua is mostly kangxi, so i still disagree , this is made around 1670 see QUEK KIOK LEE COLLECTION

see also alain truong chengua period simplicity and elegance , Clashing-color cup with the design of butterflies among flowers, Chenghua period (1465-1487). Diameter of mouth 9.1cm; diameter of bottom 3.3cm; height 4.9cm. Collected by Jingdezhen Ceramics Archaeology Research Institute.

this time and period is more duocai -wucai
