I would like to know more about this doll. Mom gave to me when I was younger. What kinda doll it is. It has the glass head and the body is cloth. The dress is very fragile and it rips real easy.

Your doll was made in a ceramic class by a hobbyist . A Reproduction or the ceramic stores own mold . You would paint it and they would fire it for you . This became popular to make your own doll from as early as the 1950s but really took of in 1970s-90s . When antique doll prices were very high this was next best thing . Now doll prices have fallen and common antique dolls are affordable to most . She would be be called glazed ceramic , trying to look like a china doll . She make a nice decor piece and great memories for you since she was a gift. I wonder if your Mom painted her and make her dress ? Welcome to CW PS lots of the clothes on these dolls were made from old material ,perhaps a dress no longer useful was cut up to make a doll dress.
