I'm wondering if anyone can share any info on this organ. I've scoured the net and cannot really find anything on this specific (I can find plenty of similar) organ.
My grandfather purchased it around 1959 for my grandmother. She's long passed and he's looking to sell, but not sure how to value it. I, mistakenly, assumed it would be an easy Google search, but finding the same exact model has proven difficult.
The only other information I've found was on this very site in a post dating 5 years ago, but no resolution and nothing sense then. Here is the link to the other post on this site from 5 years ago: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/150918-prototype-wurlitzer-organ-400o-single-ke
It's pretty much identical to the one above (couple keys colored differently.) Serial number is even close: 323459 (mine) vs. 323003 (other.) I didn't take a photo of the back, but it is identical to the one in the above link -- same metal plate, same spot.
So this started out as a "help my grandfather value something to sell," but has since turned into just trying to solve exactly what it is and get a little history on it (the link above suggests it may have been a prototype.) Curiosity has really taken over here.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance!
If you remove the back the tuning paper should be on the inside taped and it will give you more information about the instrument
I'm only saying because I found the same one on the side of the street the same case somebody was getting rid of it because I had no clue what it was I got it home and the paper fell out of the back and since I've lost the paper and I've never regretted anything more
