    Sharky
    (159 items)

Hello again...I hope everyone is well throughout this pandemic. I need some help narrowing down the year and maker on these pieces. The first photo is a soup toureen I believe. It has the cut-out for the ladle and the second photo shows the mark (sorry about the flash). the mark is within a wreath of sorts with the words "oriental" and another word beneath it that I can't seem to make out. Appears to be a cursive-written capitol "J" maybe?
The third photo shows the toureen (sans lid) on the right and on the left is a shallow plate with nearly identical color and decorative style. However, the last photo shows the mark on this plate as more of an English crown style. The marks on both pieces also contain small numbers in red.....the toureen reads "7903? (or 1903....but up close it sure looks like a 7) and the plate reads 3/1090 I believe.
I am pretty sure both items are circa. early to mid 1800s...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What about Royal Crown Derby ?
    2. Sharky, 4 years ago
ivan49, I see marks in regard to Royal Derby that look somewhat like mine, but none identical yet...and mine is more like flow blue. I am more interested in the mark on the first one. It too is reminiscent of flow blue. Still unsure on the second word within the mark. Thanks :)

      Japonisme - English Imari.
    5. Sharky, 4 years ago
I considered the possablity of Imari but don't know much about it. So, the covered dish is Japonisme? And the one with the crown is English Imari?
    6. Sharky, 4 years ago
well lol, I'm learning here. I see that Imari is more of a name to a style thus both can be from different origins. Japanese....English. Do you belive these to be early 19th century?

the crown mark is similar to Mason’s, Morley & Ashworth crown. Any ideas?
Maybe it is just a general basic English crown mark?

I also noticed the pattern on each is striking similar. Does anyone have ideas on the pattern name and can I assume they were produced around the same time?
