I found this in an antique dresser I purchased. The pictures fold up and hook together, anyone know what it is and what it's called. Thanks!

They look like the same person at different ages.
      Cased images.
      Are they Daguerreotypes ???

I hadn't really noticed them being the same. I looked up Daguerreotypes :) and yes, it appears they are. I don't want to take them apart because I'm afraid it would break. Thanks for the information.

Not daguerreotypes-- appear to be ambrotypes or tintypes.

      Using your photo #3:
Top photo may be an ambrotype (made on a sheet of glass).
Bottom left appears to be a tintype in a cdv (carte de visite) mount that has been cut down and put into a case. Probably post- date the Civil war.
Bottom right may be an ambrotype-- the Patriotic matting was popular during the Civil war.

Appear to be ninth plates-- about 2" X 2.5" in slightly larger cases (except the cut down cdv).

      Need to add a little.

It is very common to see every 19th century cased image called a daguerreotype-- used to see alot in large antique malls of the 1980s- 90s.

At the same time every piece of art glass with applied flowers, leafs or fruit was called "Stevens and williams".
