Hello.....found this old water colour, and am trying to figure out the age, and the subject matter. Anyone recognize the horse saddle style? the nationality? seems he is using red cloth stirrups? thanks for any info

am mystified by the nationality and costume of the rider.....and the saddle.
original watercolour, framed in the early 1900's I believe. Signed but can't bring anything up on the artist.....any ideas ?

The rifle the rider is carrying is Moroccan.

Also referred to as a Kabyle musket. See:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabyle_musket
