Here is a 7"H dark grey glass falcon from the Paul Hoff series for the World Wildlife Fund by Kosta Boda, dated 1975 on base. Similar to the Maltese Falcon design

I love the look of this- everything down to the charcoal colour of him reminds me of the Egyptian Falcon statue- Horus I think?...I love his very proud and regal pose, he definitely sends out the Egyptian vibes :)

Lauren thank you for the fabulous praise & you are so right, it has a very Egyptian statue pose like it's standing guard! I especially love the textured back detail, and that unusual charcoal grey color glass. Very fitting for a bird of prey

Thanks Vynil for the great comment, I can definitely see inspiration from the Maltese Falcon statue it's pretty similar I agree - and that cool movie line the stuff dreams are made of, now I wish this guy could make some dreams come true :)

Roycroft thank you for the super compliment & I too was pretty impressed at the lifelike stance of this falcon, that sharp eyed stare & body bent slightly forward as if about to "seek & destroy" - or else fly to the falcon masters arm!

The colour is a perfect choice for this falcon, majestic and brooding.
      Another great addition Jenni!

Thanks six-0-one & Karen for the love and loyal support, I am always extremely grateful for your kindness and very glad you liked this Swedish falcon

Karen thanks a mil for the fab praise, this is another brand I had to wait weeks for it to come from Sweden. In these times, can you imagine the confusion at the airport customs, I think it will be years before we do anymore flight travel. He is a perfect falcon I agree, mysterious in both color and pose, a bit ominous perhaps but quite true to life for a predatory bird

      Very nice falcon glass!
Speaking of the original Maltese Falcon statue - it was sold for 4.1 million dollars in 2013. Along with the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz - the Maltese Falcon statue is probably the most iconic item of Hollywood memorabilia.

Thank you for the fantastic comment Kurt (I will call you Hoot most of the time to preserve online privacy, I'm Jenni but it's also cool to call me Newfld, either is fine) and I am SO glad to see you back again, I have more glass owls for upcoming posts and will always be thinking of you when I put them up. I did know something about the Maltese Falcon statue story (didn't actor William Conrad of "Cannon" own one) but not that it sold for 4.1 million, WOW that's amazing. Well who wouldn't want something known as the 'stuff dreams are made of' right :)

Thanks a mil Kurt & Malkey for the super kind luv & support, much appreciated guys
