Cuuuute ?
He's so sweet- the baby blue colour of him is adorable! Baby elephants(and elephants in general) are so sweet and he is perfect! I think he's a perfect colour for a decoration in a baby's nursery and I don't think I've ever seen 'satin glass' before but it makes him look so fluffy! Kinda like that...flocked material?
Love the soft blue ... you must have a book on fenton...??

Thank you very much NaVi8274 for the kind compliment I'm so glad you liked this blue elephant & found it cute, I think so too :)
Lauren thanks for the wonderful compliments, he is certainly a sweetie and his baby blue color would look perfect in a baby boy's nursery, definitely! Fenton had different names for their opaque glass like this one in the blue satin, in pink it was called cameo, yellow custard etc. They were pretty but I think like me you probably prefer the transparent glass that shows the light & shadow of colors better
Thanks a bunch Roycroft for the great compliment & youtube referral and you guessed it, I have a couple good reference books about Fenton & other American glassmakers, I often turn to them to validate glass pieces or for ideas before I do searches to find more animals. This blue elephant happens to have a photo & description in the book Glass Animals & Figurines by Coe, Fenton Art Glass page 53, Elephant #5158, 3.6" tall 3.1" long, Frosted Asters FA Circa 1984-1986. I love book references as they make it much easier to do accurate descriptions even if they are "old school" lol
Lovely hue of blue! Fenton made some great pieces!
Many thanks for the kind love

Thanks MrsT for the great compliments it is a very gentle light blue shade I love it too. Oh yes, Fenton made such amazing glass items, their whole line was beautiful. In the case of the glass animals, they made more variety than most, and a large spectrum of colors. Their value has gone sky high lately, probably since they are no longer in business
Thanx Cokeman & Vynil for the love it is very nice of you & I'm truly grateful
Hi Jenni! Fenton eh??? Very cool, I had no idea!
I found something tonight that I thought would be of interest to many here that collect Asian porcelain and ceramic vases and since I'm not able to be on often as I like, I thought maybe you might be able to refer them to the two links I will leave here for you. In my opinion, it's much easier to locate and learn here than the Gotheborg site. Anyway, here they are:

Hope to see you soon! xoxo
Thanks share for the fantastic comment & love, glad you liked my "baby boy" Fenton elephant! So glad to see you again and appreciate that great link, leave it to Christie's to have top notch info on Asian porcelain, & the Chinese marks site will be very helpful in answering alot of questions here, I will pass them on when I see the need here. Take care of yourself in these perilous times please :)
Thank you sklo42 & six-0-one for the love, it is most gratefully appreciated & glad you liked this piece
I would have thought this 1950s by style, but I guess 50s was revived in the 80s a bit.
It's so sweet. So suitable for you Jenni :)
Thanks so much Karen for the very kind words, I try to be sweet but think you have seen that old Sagittarian temper come thru on occasion esp challenges to my heavily resourced collectibles. But I prefer to be a nice person, folks here are mostly super kind & receptive like yourself, and I think congeniality wins every time. This pastel Fenton elephant is quite sweet and does look older than the 80s, perhaps they did revive the design there were SO many reissues from older pieces, esp Heisey farmed them out to so many different co's, I got a couple pretty Heisey by Royal Hickman (wonderful art deco designer) reissues that I have to photograph for future posts
Thanks guys for the love and support, I'm so glad you liked this blue elephant Hoot and Malkey
How beautiful! I absolutely love Fenton’s animals. They are so sweet and addictive to collect. What a gorgeous specimen!
Thank you FromTheVanity for the lovely compliment on this Fenton elephant, very glad you liked him & agree about Fenton's animals, I particularly love their variety and range of colors
Many thanks for the kind love
