This climber is a cumbersome weed. Once you get it into your garden, you'll never get rid of it again. It spreads its seeds everywhere and it doesn't care about the soil. Long after we're all gone Lathyrus latifolius will still be here, laughing at us all with its flowers, reaching for the Sun as always ...
I had to look this one up - now I have to hope I never see any of that around here! “Everlasting Pea” was one of the common names I saw for it....The “everlasting” part puts me on alert!
We have honeysuckle, wisteria, kudzu, vinca minor, Japanese stiltgrass, common Bermuda grass, crab grass, English ivy, bamboo, wild grapes, and other pesky fast growing plants whose names I don’t know. What I do know is how quickly they assume control of any spot of soil they choose....and how much work they cause me to do!
Now there’s this one with the lovely pink flowers!!
So you're not interested in a bag of seeds I suppose ?
mix up 2/3 vinegar 1/3 water a few t spoons soap deterrent//spay and it will die in 24 hours I use it on thistle...works like a charm...no seeds thank you
Golgatha, thanks for the generous offer but I’ll pass!
Roycroftbooksfromme1, I’ll try your concoction on plants that I would love to see gone from my yard. I dislike using Roundup and similar products with all their warnings and known health risks.
Thanks for the advice Roycroft... but spraying isn't selective. You kill both the good, the bad and the ugly !
