I haven't been able to id this. It's made of tin and measures 8 1/2" long. It has an opening on top that appears to have a paper-like insert. Thanks in advance for your help.

Could it perhaps be some kind of 'professional model' of a kazoo?? (vs. the common 'toy' ones everybody would recognize instantly that is...) Is there even such a thing as a 'pro model' kazoo, for that matter...?? Looks like a nifty little thing, no matter what it really might be?!! :-) :-) :-)

My guess was a whistle but AnythingObsures kazoo idea sounds more like it

Thanks for the replies. I was leaning toward a kazoo, too. Love the "professional model" suggestion!

It is a kazoo. You can make an improvised one with a piece of waxed paper and a comb.
