Beautiful old necklace found in a Estate sale with Jade Jewelry. Looks like glass beads not sure what the centre stone is? Seems to be a greeny pearl iridescent plastic if that makes any sense. 3d appearance as you move the pendent. Small pearls or faux. 27 inch long. The golden clasp attaches Into a fitting underneath the square. Might take this into a jeweller. One of my favourites.
Hey Valentino, no marks anywhere at all. Is Lucite heavy? This piece seems heavy to me. At first I thought the round beads were Malachite but the colourings seem to be consistent throughout. I have a way funny way of figuring out if a piece is plastic or glass/stone by tapping it against my teeth! Haha and this seems to be fairly hard like glass would be but I’m not 100% sure. The centre stone very well has the same hardness as the round beads. Also centre piece looks very much like a plastic it definitely is not a stone. Made to look like Jade possibly...:)
I’ll add that there is corroded grey metel joining the last stringed bead to the clasp and to the Pendant. Also each bead is knotted to stay in place. Double corded.
The Czechs made quite a lot of malachite coloured glass. Maybe?
Anyway, I think this is fantastic!
Me too! I’ll look into that.
