The other day I otherwise pulled to the side of the street for a moment intending to take a few pics of something entirely different, then happened to glance down at the pavement while crossing the street for another view of that. What to my wondering eyes should appear there but THIS, having been laying there long enough that I actually had to make an extra trip back to the truck for a slender screwdriver to pry it out of the surface of the asphalt it had become basically embedded in by who knows how many vehicle tires that otherwise pressed it into there since whenever (and however) it managed to land there at first.

As seen, it is a (former) 'U-HAUL CO property of/identification' plate. From what exact variety of their rental equipment it came from (and how it might have parted company from whatever thing that was?) is way beyond my ability to guess. It measures about 3-3/4" x 1-3/4" made of a non magnetic silver-ish (plated?) metal that's 1/8" thick, the whole thing kinda pressed into a slightly curved overall shape along its length, looking like it was once 'spot welded' (?) to whatever it originally came from.

One way or the other, it's FUN ain't it -- and I'm happy to now have it amongst my "nameplate" collection?!!

THANK YOU Vynil, most sincerely, for your very kind comments. Trust me -- there's only one of me in here, no 'aliases' ever now or in the future if I have anything to say about it. But that's just me...there's lots of other members here and some of them seem to occasionally wanna behave differently. I generally just ignore it and move on -- the friendships (virtual or not) I've made amongst many of y'all in the meanwhiles far outweigh the random (and rare) WTF? moments/etc that sometimes pop up... ;-) :-)

      More kind thanks to fortapache, Vynil33rpm, Newfld, Watchsearcher, vetraio50, racer4four, Cokeman1959, and ttomtucker for stopping by and leaving your <love it>s. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

So, Anything Obscure is your real name ? LOL ! Is that Sr. or Jr. ? Or Any Thing Obscure, maybe ?

Screen name "AnythingObscure" -- a handle I invented specifically when I joined CW -- my real name is Tim. Back in the day I was "OddMary" on eBay (100%+ ratings as buyer or seller) before changing enough computers/internet sources that I lost access to that account, and afaik eBay has sorta turned into its own kinda nightmare since then so I've never bothered to try to reactivate it) and if/when I might ever actually open my own flea market booth/junk shop/etc I'll probably revert back to "OddMary's Junk-a-Torium" as whatever semblance of d.b.a. that might havta end up being. "AO" was new for here..."OddMary's" has particular meaning to me otherwise directly in memory of a now decades-gone friend, who once shared similar interests/mindset with me regarding the kind of general old crap he, myself, and many more of us here now otherwise enjoy.

Thank YOU too, bb2, for being one of my 'virtual friends' around here. It is appreciated right now more than any of y'all will ever be able to know. :-) :-) :-)
