for a bit of background on this reproduction piece here's a bit of the history:
originally attributed to NATIONAL GLASS CO. NO .419 BUFFALO PAPER WEIGHT (OMN)
      • AKA: Buffalo
      • Indiana Tumbler & Goblet Company (Greentown-IN, Operated: 1894-1899), Introduced: c1901. IT&G was part of the National Glass combine at this time; thus the National attribution.
      • NOTE: Roger Haworth: …there's some evidence that the mould originated in Findlay at Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton and then was moved to IT&G…. The nile green ones are certainly Greentown, but the frosted one…may be DG&L
NOTE: Roger Haworth 2020: ref newly discovered National Glass Co catalog: 400 series novelties product of National (ITG Works) c.1899-1903

also, these cam be found with the 1901 date on the front lending to the theory that these may have been made for exhibition at the Pan American Exposition at Buffalo NY in 1901

This would be a great Taurus upload too y'know :P I also love the glass it's weird but it seems to be multi coloured with pink, green and gold in it? Whatever kind of glass that is it's REALLY pretty!

I love the carnival glass style of iridescence on this Jenni. It's a fantastic moulding too.

TallCakes thank you so much for the fabulous info & history about this buffalo piece, my sources did not mention it was a reissue & to know it originated in 1901 makes it all the more special to me! Always impressed with your wealth of knowledge on vintage glass, I thank you so much for stopping by & sharing the history of this buffalo it is a wonderful contribution for all here & always greatly appreciated

Lauren this definitely has a Taurus the bull vibe, it does look like it's in bullfighting stance lol! This kind of glass is called carnival or iridescent which adds rainbow hues to the original color, I like when it's subtle such as on the left side of this buffalo where you can see the orig blue color, but they kind of overdid it on the other side IMO. Yet you find many fans of the multi hues throughout the glass and it is a popular form in glass animals, fantastic praise as always thank you so much

Thanks Karen for your terrific compliments about this buffalo, I thought it was pretty cool to find this different type of animal plus that octagonal base is very appealing. Glad you enjoyed the carnival coloring, it definitely adds pizzazz to a piece, and it's nice that it doesn't obscure the orig pretty blue color in this case
