Two of My Favourite 1930s 1940s Knitted Garments

Since persons have, for a long while, shared photos of neither antique nor vintage women's clothing, I should like to briefly enliven the latent category.

The emerald-green knitted frock—a seven-dollar find—was awaiting my arrival. As I was driving through a residential area, leaving an antiques faire, I saw, through my peripheral vision, its beckoning to me. The Irish in me, of course, succumbed to the sight. The gregarious fellow, by whom the dress was sold, shared with me the story behind his acquiring the lovely frock: he, within twenty miles of his property, located it in a dilapidated, abandoned house. As the dress was not frowsy, I felt the faintest bit reassured—upon arriving home, though, I celeritously laundered the garment!

On eBay, after a family sojourn in Disneyland, the helm of a search query led me to uncharted territory: my mariner jumper. Infrequently, I locate older nautical-style garments, as most sailor-inspired pieces are cotton middies, modern reproductions, or coordinated wartime habiliment. This jumper, I believe, comprises jersey wool, and was hand-knitted by a sedulous seamstress!
