Found this in my attic; bought it 35 yrs ago at an antique fair; have no idea what it is - is it folk art, primitive art, vintage - can anyone help identify? Solid wood, appears hand made, specific designs painted on in red and black, I'm guessing it was originally used as a child's rocking horse. Is it worth anything or should I trash it?
Don't know anything about it but it's adorable.
This looks a lot like 50's so it might have been 20 or 25 years old when you got it, lacking any tags or i.d. marks it is a neat thing and I think I'd keep it but it's yours and you may do as you please. It is not hand painted it is all machine made and finished.
I agree with Pop-- I would say it is from the 1950s, maybe 60s.
I wouldn't call it folk art or primitive. It appears to be a production line riding toy-- simple pieces, quickly assembled, with a basic paint pattern.

It does have value and looks like it could be used today.
I would certainly NOT trash it.
