Antique Sterling Hand Painted Birds’ Nest Guilloche Compact from 1919

I am excited to share the most recent addition to my guilloche collection! I purchased this from a close family friend two weeks ago, and she gave me an incredible deal. A sweet treasure from a sweet person.

While sterling guilloche items always grab my heart and full attention, this example is all the more special due to its engraving. It features the monogram of the original owner/recipient, along with the year it was gifted to her (1919). The silver hallmark is found along the rim of the lid.

I love antiques so, so very much, as it almost feels like I’m being sneaky. I was never meant to see, let alone own, this item that was given to someone 101 years ago.
