There is something about Aurora Borealis rhinestones that I simply cannot resist. I must have been a magpie in a previous life!
I found this brooch about three years ago, and I have been infatuated with it since. It was made by Christian Dior in 1958, as indicated by the cartouche on the reverse side. It features many gorgeous stones, including gigantic peacock AB stones, smaller, pale blue stones, midnight blue stones, and stones coated in silver metallic. The stacked design reminds of of both a flower blossom and a cross simultaneously.
Given the year of its creation, I suspect that this might be a Henkel Grosse piece, as they designed for Dior around this time. No matter the maker, I adore it and am so glad I found it! Thank you for stopping by, and enjoy! :)
Gorgeous blue Dior brooch, what a fabulous classic design
Just wondering if you have a vintage store in Tacoma under the same name?
Newfld, thank you very much! I really love the stones in this brooch.
Sadly, I live on the other side of the country, and I do not have a physical location. I just sell online. Washington is on my bucket list to visit, though! :)
