Original by Robert Faux Pearl and Clear Rhinestone Brass Powder Compact Mirror

While I was familiar with, and quite fond of, Original by Robert costume jewelry, I remained unaware for years of the company’s highly collectible compacts. Many fabulous and ornate designs were produced, with the most collectible and sought after being compacts shaped like miniature vanity chairs.

This example features a lid covered with imitation pearls and clear rhinestones, many of which are fastened to the tops of the pearls. It is nearly impossible to capture just how sparkly this piece is!

The story of how I came to own it is long, but quite simple and straightforward. I spotted it on Etsy two years ago and had it in my cart for about a year and a half. It left my mind for a while, until one day, I just so happened to search for Robert compacts on eBay. Wouldn’t you know that my compact was the first in the search results, and the auction was closing in one day! I put in a ridiculously high bid, taking the experience as a sign, and won. I was so happy to finally have this treasure! I hope you all enjoy it!
