As someone who is becoming more and more infatuated with Schreiner jewelry by the day, I am excited to share with you my favorite in my collection. This signed beauty features a collection of clear rhinestones in various cuts and sizes. The design of this particular piece reminds me of Austrian Crystal jewelry from the same era. It is quite unusual for Schreiner to make such a “traditional” brooch, with clear stones, but, like everything Schreiner made, they did an excellent job. The quality is incredible, and the sparkle is noticeable from across the street.
Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy!
A very beautiful Schreiner piece, lovely icy appearance. You seem well informed about vintage jewelry and hope you will take some excessive 'expert' info here with a grain of salt
Newfld, thank you very much! I truly adore vintage costume jewelry, and my favorite thing is learning about the different designers. It’s so neat to hear about the origins of these famous creators, and what inspired them. Thank you for your support! You’re the best! :)
She might be talking about another category.... where excessive is a mild way of putting it....lol.
I must have missed something Mary, I thought jewelry was a safe place to post. Sorry if that is not the case.
Hi FromTheVintage, appreciate your lovely compliments & understanding my comment. No offense to my two highly knowledgeable friends & not bashing anyone, just stating a fact as regards ill-informed CW 'experts' in general.
Best, Jenni
Since I have now been drawn into this, when I was just posting items from my personal collections, allow me to clear up two things.
1. I am a long-time collector of vintage jewelry, and every item I have shared here on CW is from my personal collection and is not for sale anywhere, on any forum. I merely wanted to share items that I have acquired over the years for my own collections.
2. As a certified appraiser, I do not need to use this site to gather information, as I have noticed, as Newfld helpfully pointed out, there is often incorrect information to be found. However, I was enjoying sharing my personal items and seeing other treasures that people have generously shared with all of us. I have found antique and vintage items fascinating all my life, and was very excited to discover a forum where I could discuss them with likeminded collectors. I have always found the antique and vintage jewelry community to be an inviting and uplifting environment. This is my sole reason for posting here.
Well said, and it is so nice to meet another vintage jewelry collector on our site. For the most part you will find pleasant, helpful members here who enjoy each other's collectibles and praise them for their beauty & uniqueness, without hostility. I must apologize that my small comment ignited such a firestorm on your beautiful Schreiner post. I am never a confrontational person here, but you are right there is much misinformation around that others accept as fact, when we are merely collectors not experts, and you yourself as a certified appraiser are perhaps the most expert of us all! Welcome to CW, and hope you will keep sharing your lovely collection :)
Well, I also want to share my point of view. First thing is I dont take it to heart if someone is having a frustrating day since the Spring and the many restrictions we have had to endure for the sake of all our health.
Jenni and Mary, as I said, had no idea of the conflicts or unpleasant situations and people leaving in your categories, I do know as you both do, that we have the full range here of the -don't know, you must tell me- to -I know it all, and listen to me-.
We also have the -I dont want to know, if its not good news-.
For FromTheVanityVintage, I am glad you are participating, sure you will have your own point of view, and that is welcome to CW.
I love this brooch! I think I have the matching unsigned earrings, same design, stone cuts, etc. Thank you for sharing. I do not care if you collect, curate, sell, or admire vintage jewelry, it is the love of the past and unique pieces that is admirable. Great piece!
