When I came across this bracelet, I had no idea that Wedgwood also fashioned their infamous jasperware into beautiful jewelry! It was a wonderful surprise, and now, I am completely addicted.
Wedgwood brooches, set in pot metal, silver, and even solid gold, can be found on vintage and auction sites, but their bracelets are a tad more scarce. Though their imagery often depicts Greek gods and goddesses, this bracelet features an assortment of flowers, including roses and lily of the valley. Each cameo is embossed with the maker’s name, and each setting includes a sterling mark. Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy!
Beautiful sterling Wedgwood jasperware bracelet, very nice find. I too have always admired their cameo jasperware ceramics esp the mythology type
Beautiful! Great to see this fantastic piece of jewelry! Their porcelain has always made me think of cameos. I think it is a fun thought to think that they were inspired by cameojewelry for their porcelain and that the jasper is then used in jewelry...
Newfld, thank you! Oh, yes. Their Ancient Greek/Rome scenes are among my personal favorites. I love their china, as well, and have started a small collection. :)
Elisabethan, thank you so much! I love their white-against-blue cameo silhouettes, as well. Their jewelry is just as lovely as their housewares!
