My grandfather recently gave me this gem, said it belonged to his father and wasn’t sure how old the clock was.

Couldn’t find much solid info so figured I’d ask some professionals. Looking forward to what people say

    Thanks everyone

It's pretty old. Possibly late 1800s.

I, on eBay, located a 1916 advertisement limning your grandfather's enamelled mantel clock:

      https://www.ebay.com/i/312266561601?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=312266561601&targetid=935694487826&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1014226&poi=&campaignid=10459992138&mkgroupid=100467642941&rlsatarget=pla-935694487826&abcId=2146000&merchantid=6326094&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvonLxouz6wIV-RitBh1XBgDaEAQYASABEgKMXfD_BwE

Thanks guy! I’ve been searching and searching but I can’t find anything that’s the exact same model clock for some reason. I live in Portland Maine so I’ll see if anyone in the area knows clocks. But please feel free to let me know if anyone comes across something

      Maliseet,

The same model of your Ingraham mantel clock, Sigma, is portrayed on the second photo, I, through the above link, provided. Should you scrutinise the second mantel clock, on the the left-hand side of the second photo of the eBay listing, you will see a print of an identical clock: Sigma $13.10.

Your great-great-grandfather's mantel clock is, quite likely, from 1916.

Oh, goodness! Do pardon me; I meant to write *your great-grandfather's mantel clock.

I agree. It's an Ingraham "Sigma", which is the name given on the intact label. My source has it circa 1915 but the model could have been offered several years before or after that date. It originally listed for $8.25. That would be about $211 in 2020. It is described as having a Cathedral Glass Window effect. Green metal columns and gilt trimmings.

Your heirloom looks like it has been fairly well taken care of. Appears to be missing its bezel and glass. Would benefit from a little TLC.

Ingraham made some very nice clocks which were pretty good timekeepers for their time and price range.

If your "mystery" has been solved, please indicate so in your listing.

Thanks for sharing it with us.
