The Mighty Mackinaw Bridge, spanning the Straits of Mackinaw. Bringing together the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan. My girlfriend and I just recently were on a camping trip up in Cheboygan Mi. and she had never seen or went over the Mighty Mac. So a day trip to the U.P. was in order.
The suspension bridge opened in 1957. It is 5 miles long in total. The longest of any bridge in the western hemisphere. Mackinaw city in the lower and St Ignace in the Upper. Both historic towns that we explored.
These pics are from the Lower Peninsula. 4th pic is the old Mackinaw Lighthouse.
Thanx for lookin!
