i realize this fan shaped vase is in sorry shape. The decal is severely worn. The glass itself is scratched.

I am very new to Vaseline. I have a black light light bulb, but i really can't tell because the bulb is like a regular shaped light bulb.

The tint looks a bit off to me.But I have seen this vase with this decal in uranium glass.Really can't tell. You can get a fluorescent poster blacklight at Walmart for around $10.Also Home Depot has the tubular spiral blackight that screws into a regular socket that works well. The incandescent blacklight bulbs don't show the fluorescence very well.

It reminds me of 1930s Fenton, but not sure

without dimensions it hard to say but your looks to match Diamond's fan vase. It looks green to me. Remember, "If it's green it ain't vaseline." If it glows it would be uranium glass. I've got one of those compact fluorescent bulbs that work okay with uranium glass. I would think that even one of the incandescent bulbs would work with uranium glass as it glows so brightly.

Ok...I am getting confused by what is Vaseline and Uranium. Would I be correct in thinking it's Vaseline if the color looks like Vaseline the product? I have seen some that looks like green Vaseline. Please forgive me for I am new and this confuses me lol

agreed, it can seem confusing. If glass glows bright yellow tint under black light it is uranium glass. Vaseline is a uranium glass. But as you state vaseline glass is yellow like Vaseline; many of the original makers called the color canary. Uranium glass is a general term and can be in many colors. I have some apple green glass that glows very brightly under black light.

here is a good site for vaseline:

I have the same color/pattern in a large, low-footed compote. it's the same green hue and still has most of the decoration remaining. Mine says "sterling silver". It does NOT glow under UV light. The closest match I can find is possibly Silver City Glass Co. Hope this helps :)

I see those links no longer work, as the web structure has changed. Here's new links:
