I think it’s a satsuma temple jar. With the top on it stands about 40” tall.

The only markings are those in the pictures. It’s been in the family perhaps 50 years but I’m not sure where it came from. There are small round holes on either side of the foo dog handles on the sides of the jar. Anyone know what that would be for? Any idea of a date?
