This dish was my grandmother's. I have been holding onto it, but now that i know a little about glass, I am thinking it's from several pieces.
I am thinking the lid is Fenton Carnival glass from a candy dish.
The metal base is marked Farberware. it appears as if a handle is missing?
Is the divided dish inside Vaseline?
The divided dish likely started off life in the metal holder, and it most likely did have a handle. These were very popular from the 1920s to 1940s, especially as giftware. Would probably not have had a lid. The lid is later, 1950s+ "Dime store glass" by Anchor Hocking. The correct base is paneled like the lid and has a sort of bullseye pattern in the base.
Thank you Paul!
And yes the base is uranium glass.Definately a married piece as Paul71 pointed out.
This to me, is a wonderful personal keepsake. Because it's something my grandmother did, and it took years for us to discover she had put two pieces together!
