Today on Matchbox Monday we have 3 different models. The first is probably one of the most popular models made: The Dodge wreck truck. Made in 1965, these have tow hooks that you can put under some models and tow them around. I bet some are missing this hook.
Next is the GMC Refrigerator Truck. Made in '67, these feature a gray door that opens in the back. I'm sure kids put something inside it that was not perishable food lol. These have a small variation in the rear bumper. The common one has a raised "lip" on the bottom. There is a version without this lip, and my suspicions tell me these were earlier than the lip versions. Lipless ones are harder to find but do not affect value.
Finally we have another Dodge model. The Stake Truck. Produced in 1966, these also have a variation. The plastic beds come in green (shown) and blue-green (teal). Unlike the GMC, the variation does alter the value. Green beds are common, and the teal is pretty rare. This model has fairly large wheels compared to other trucks.
A way to tell whether your model was made before 1967 is to look on the bottom. Pre-1967 models have "Made in England by Lesney" after "Matchbox Series" and the model name and number. Those from '67 onward have it before "Matchbox Series" and model name and #. These I also paid 45 cents each
