This is a small, antique basket that has been in our centennial Michigan farmhouse for approx. 100 years and possibly longer. We don't know its origin but until recently always presumed that it was Native American - but, were corrected that it's quite likely Chinese. We're speculating that it originally had a cover. Dimensions are 5 1/4 inch across the top and approx. 2 inches tall.
We'd greatly appreciate any input on its provenance and approx. date or period of creation etc. Thank you!!
