I believe that this necklace is over the hill. I mean, it has seen better times. The plastic teardrops are all grazed. I think this is due to improper storage or exposure to heat or chemicals or something else. The metal chain has been changed, too.
I think that it is still a wearable piece and has its own charm. It looks rather attractive in real life. I will keep it separate from my other plastic jewellery - just in case. I heard that some damaged/deteriorating plastic can eliminate substances the can damage other pieces. True or not, I am not going to take any chances.
The pieces are a little bit translucent. There are many little gold-tone sparkling inclusions. The plastic pieces are not molded. They show some signs of tool marks. When tested with Simichrome, I got a yellowish result but I learned to be skeptical.
I love mysteries! I guess I got another one on my hands.

kwqd and vetraio50, thanks so much for the love. I hope you didn't look at my hands. I just finished sealing my driveway and didn't realize that my fingers were still black from tar. These close-up photos can be embarrassing!
Mary, thanks so much for your comment. I have been looking for hours online to find out more. Well, in a sense, it's a lot of entertainment for a couple of dollars, LOL. So far it's still a mystery. I am keeping the necklace away from my other plastics ad out of a bag. That's good advice. Thanks, my friend.
I am trying to come up with a way to display my plastic necklaces. I was thinking of a large picture frame with a cotton backing and hooks to hang the necklaces. And it should be out of direct sunlight. I am just not too sure about the cotton backing.
