X MARKS THE SPOT SIGN.

This State Auto Insurance sign is enamel and measures 28" across. The first one that i remember seeing was at an intersection of roads
where a person had been killed and a smaller version of this sign was posted.This was in the early 40's era. They were pretty common in Iowa at that time. Several years ago driving through South Dakota i saw several of the smaller version where a life was lost in a traffic accident.
