DAVID HAMMOND for WEBB - PATTERN 52563

A Webb cut and engraved glass vase designed by David Hammond (1931-2002), flaring form on applied foot, mitre cut and engraved with panels of elliptical stylised foliage, another cut glass vase. Acid etched Webb mark.
H : 30cm.
W: 21 cm diam. at rim

Nigel Benson has told me : “I just looked out one of the Webb catalogues, which has price lists for 1962 and 63. The only vase with the same cut pattern as yours is referred to as pattern number 52563, which appears to refer to the cut pattern and not the shape of the vase.”

Designer David Hammond joined Webb's in 1947 - 1951, and returned 1956 - 1988. Hammond designed the Scandinavian style 'Flair' range in the 1960’s.
