These are in my china cabinet from years ago, from family (mom)
1st one 7" -2nd one-7" and 3rd. 7 1/2"
I have never checked these out for what pattern or make they are. I would love to know also if I can even get more. I have many more, small ones also.
To my glass expert Paul..........lol when he is not playing music....
Sorry everyone the last pic is the best to see these....
Even when I'm not playing or composing music, I'm thinking of music, Diz...does that count? :-)
These would be very difficult to nail down a manufacturer, because so many different companies made beverage and stemware like this with copper wheel engravings. People will call them "etched", but it is properly refered to as "engraved" (you'd get smacked by the engraver, for sure) Anyway, the first two have what's called a "safety edge" that thick rim that protects against chipping. Libbey was a pioneer in this, so they could be Libby, even if unmarked. At any rate, they appear to date from the 1940s to 1950s. Hope that helps even just a little
Well, I a glad your thinking of music, because what you got and what I heard is excellent.
Well they had to be in 40's or 50's and your probably 100%correct case closed....lol your too funny and just loved that Irish music.....not Irish but I do celebrate like I was....have alot of friends that are.
Oh goody, goody....I can tell you a little about the first (on far left) one in the picture. My mother collected S&H Green stamps in the 50s/60s, back when they actually had redemption stores located in towns. She "redeemed" two different patterns with her Green Stamps during that time....one is the pattern in your picture. The other pattern has a different stem and laurel leaves "engraved" around the top. I have a good number of both (Tea, water, wine, sherbert - all stemmed - and unstemmed beverage), but not complete of either.
You all have been so helpful....exciting that I can contribute.
I have a few of these, as well. Most of them have been packed (moving). Hmmmm S&H greenstamps...that takes me back so far and licking all those stamps and filling the little books for my grandmother. She'd clap her hands in excitement with all her green stamps, while I'd be gulping down a glass of water. Good times! Anyway...the ones I have out are much shorter base with a kind of modern flower design. Thanks for the memory. : )
