I am not totally sure but I think this is a vintage or antique tortoise shell beads necklace. First I believed it to be some sort of plastic but at closer inspection I think it is organic material. Certainly not what I wanted to find!
The beads are hollow and are made of two half spheres. The clasps is hidden. The necklace is in very good condition. All beads are beautiful and display very little wear.
I have not cleaned it yet because I have no idea how to do that.
I am not sure about the age but I am guessing the the necklace might date to the first half of the last century.
Thanks for looking:)
Thanks for your comment, Mary. I have never seen a necklace like this before. At first, I put it back because I had no idea what it could be but then I decided to take my chances. I paid $1.00 in one of my favorite charity shops, so there was not much to risk :)
Ms.CrystalShip, thanks so much for your nice comment! Recently, since the reopening, most charity shops here have nothing to offer. They are full of of clothing and bad house wear, but nothing good at all. I don't know what is going on. I even told my husband that I will have to look for a new hobby because the stores are empty, there are no garage sales, and I am sure we won't have church bazaars either this year. The antique malls I go to frequently are running low on the good stuff, too. I don't know what is going on!?
Your cat must be beautiful! I have a little dog (it was my daughters') but I am a cat lover in my heart:)
Thanks so much for the love, fortapache, vetraio50, Ms.CrystalShip, and Mary (valentino97) :)
