I found these in old family jewelry boxes. After looking online. At sweater clips, I noticed there was such a thing as shoe clips. which I had never heard of before. And I wonder if these are shoe clips or sweater clips. Does anybody have knowledge to share?
Also I noticed that 1 of the rhinestone appear gray. Is there a way to fix that?
Hi Eileen sent me. I agree with the experts who have spoken, shoe clips. There are places you can send them to have the stones professionally replaced if you are anxious about taking on the task. While there is some danger, as Eileen says, you can learn to do this. Just practice on stuff from a thrift that you don't care about. Shoe clips are the mid 20th century continuation of shoe buckles that go back centuries. Search wikipedia for more info. You can tell they are shoe clips because the clip on the back is so short and the design and construction. Welcome to CW! - Maureen
Maureen and Eileen and Valentino97,5 thank you so much for your help and advice. I love the idea of practicing on things that are not important. I have a antique jewlers case with assorted glass bottles of rhinestones. I hope to find a match.
