Can anyone help identify this blade, or knife? I'm newer at knife collecting. So far, no one knows. I've done a lot of research on it and I speculate that the blade is from some sort of plug bayonet that someone has made a new handle for. The handle parts seem to be home made, like Folk Art, nicely, but somewhat crudely done, unevenly meshed handle parts etc. If it was still intended as a plug bayonet the caliber of the flintlock would have to have been quite large. I have read that European wild bore hunters who had flintlock rifles, after the great flintlock wars, used them for bore hunting. The handle does not seem to be a military issue. That is, unless it was just for dress. Anyway, I'm probably all wrong, but it's just my speculating. Thanks! Kev10

It definitely could, or could not be, from a plug bayonet. Looks like a new handle on an old blade. We can continue to speculate.
