I have been cutting down on my taxidermy but I got off the wagon when I saw this bird. Generally most taxidermy birds are ducks or pheasants so when I see something different I am interested. This may or may not be a grouse but it comes from the same familly that includes chickens, turkeys, quail and so on. Basically the birds that do the tail display like this one. It also helps that it is doing the tail display. These are birds that mostly live on the ground. Mostly just enough to get up in a tree or from here to there. This one is chicken size, about the size of a hen. This one is male as can be seen by the tail display but then again maybe not. A male grouse would have crest and some extra neck feathers. Going with unsolved mystery here.
He's a handsome chap.
Thank you very much racer4four.
