How old is this? what if anything do you know about this? I have a very very old green Vaseline glass bottle, it glows, it says in the middle of the bottle TOILET WATER , toilet center front & water under it. that’s all it says. it has indent on both sides for gripping, it has flaws in glass. I was told by local antique dealer it could be worth up to 1000.00
it has the glass matching stopper also. it wasn’t made flaw free. it is in perfect condition though, no cracks or chips.
help please with the identity of this bottle
No Idea but its A Nice Old Piece of Vaseline!
These are made by Cambridge Glass and are shown on page 155 of the Whitmeyer's Bedroom and Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years in pink. The writing is barely visible in the picture, but it's there. They give a value of $35.00 -$40.00 each for the pink. My guess is that to get anywhere near your dealer's guesstimate, you'd need the entire set w/ tray. The set is shown in Cambridge Glass' 1930 catalog.
I collect Uranium glass and watch Ebay religiously I have only seen these a couple of times and if memory serves me they went between $100 and $150.As for the age I can only tell you it is pre WWII.
By the way, this piece was made by Cambridge, everything Allisonf said is true. I've seen the same thing in the book.
