Have this rotating hanging 1968 Schlitz globe light. I cannot find another like it to compare notes. Seen lots with similarities, but nothing that's a perfect match. It 's about 16" across the center and looks like it could hang over a pool table or something. It came out of the old beer distribution center on North Capitol St. in Washington, DC. It lights up and interior globe spins. Anybody have one like it or any info on it? Suggestions on where to look?
I just bought one at a garage sale. I was wondering what they go for I'm keeping mine. Just wondering if you've found any info
My father has one of those above the bar in his basement. I was just looking for something comparable too, to see how much it's worth. I'm pretty sure he's had thing for about 35 years or so. Still works and looks good. This is the only thing I've found that's a match.
I have the large one and the identical baby one, about 7". I have been searching for info on this on and off for 10 years and have only ever seen one on eBay and it sold for over a 1000. I have spent weekends trying to find more info. Wish I knew where else to look. Not trying to sell it, just trying to find out how rare it is. Also have the more popular gold lady holding the globe.
I bought one yesterday for $40 and I cant find it anywhere. I think it has to be rare if one sold for $1000 and no one can find it. I think I am going to contact the company or neonsign.com. Thats the only two I can think of.
$40. Nice steal. Found a 1973 promo magazine that schlitz would send to their vendors. It has a picture of a schlitz bar where they have 2 baby globes up against the wall and 1 large globe above the bar in front of it. But no other info, just happened to be in one of the pictures. The magazine is called globe. Wonder if we can find an edition from 68' and shed some light on this mystery.
I have one and I have been looking for ever. Saw one like it finally on ebay for $1,500 Wow huh! I can try and find it for you. Let me know
Congrads.
Very neat! I helped our local school move a soccer goal from a barn to the school. The lady that owned the barn gave me one of these for helping out. It works flawlessly and hangs nicely in my garage. Cool that it's valuable as well!
I just rescued one out of storage. I’ve been aware of it for about five years. This forum is still all I can find about it. Cleaned up nicely and works brilliantly. Super cool piece. Probably will never know the value because I don’t think anyone is willing to sell.
I bought one at a yardsale back in the late 1970's I gave $2.00 for it still works great
