Found a box of these down in the basement. These are aircraft from Tamiya's Waterline series which is a 1/700 scale line of ship models. These were accessories for the ships which were all from WWII. Looks like I cropped out the Betty Bombers so I think everything is US.
Starting off are fighters. Got the P38 Lightning, P51 Mustang and P 47 Thunderbolt.
Next are bombers, I see the Japanese Betty Bombers in the upper left corner. In front is a PBY Catalina, the large bomber is the B29. Plus there are B24 Liberators and B17s. There may be a B25 there.
OK there are the B25s in photo 3. Plus another view of the bombers.
Wrapping it up are PT boats, Landing Craft, M4 Shermans and I forget the name of those amphibious tanks, alligators I think.
Coming up next is the Saturday Evening Scout Post.
Man! That's a cool set up you have there. I was just thinking about digging out my military micro machines and posting them.
Several years ago McChord Air Force Base had a air show. They did a Pearl Harbor reenactment. It was amazing to hear the Roar of half-a-dozen zeros flying in for a bombing run. Must have been 2008. There was a P-51 Mustang that flew alongside a modern fighter jet.
The D-Day invasion has arrived, great post
