This vase is about 5.5" high with a bottom that has been hot worked and shows no pontil remnant. It was possibly blown into a mold, but I don't think it was. It has a Kodama label, which Karen has identified as a seller, not a maker, of glass. Whenever I see this red and white swirl in a vase, I think of Fukuoka, but I guess several Japanese glass houses made similar vases. If I ever see one that has a glass maker's label that is not "Fukuoka" maybe I will be able to stop jerking my knee. Anyway, my only Kodama marked glass, but a nice little piece, if a pretty common style.
Thanks for the comment, Eileen! It does look edible.
Thanks for taking a look at my Kodama vase Eileen, aura, Thomas, Jenni, fortapache and Kevin!
I get you totally about the Fukuoka reaction Kevin.
This vase is a great red and the Kodama sticker is a bonus (for me anyway )
I really really dig this baby!
