Does anyone recognize the point of view of this painting? I mean, where the artist stood to get this view? i have seen many from pretty much this same spot. It LOOKS like Little Tahoma and then the Rainier Peak on the right, but not sure. I don't know how to date this, though it appears quite old, based on the painting style. It is done on a hard, black board or slate, with small bumps all over the surface to give it texture. Also the frame is super nice and appears to be oak with dowels holding the corners and an inlaid pressed copper or brass trim, with acorn motif. I shared some close-ups.
I would appreciate any info one might have about the age of this art and frame, as well as info about location of painter when he/she did it en plein air.
Thanks.
NOTE: someone added a glass cover over the painting, so there are lots of reflections, in case you might be wondering what all the highlights are..
