This oil lamp is 15" high with shade, 6.5" minus shade and 5.75" in base diameter. It is solid brass and has no markings except for a small paper label on the bottom which reads "Denmark 5023". There is nothing on the knob except for a decorative motif. I paid about $5 for this lamp at a thrift shop maybe 20 years ago and never used it. Images I have found of similar designed lamps suggest it takes a very wide wick which wraps part way around the burner, not exactly a mantle. I did put some lamp oil it it which seems to have gummed it up after 20 years of sitting on top of my grandfather clock. Maybe not the right fuel for this lamp? It would probably require a good soak in kerosene to get it working again.

A bit after first posting this I found a Worthpoint auction for this exact lamp:

    https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-brondberg-tandrop-brass-oil-1842876333

"...brass oil lamp with a Matador 15 round wick burner. This is a good size lamp that measures 5 1/4" in diameter and 15" high. Could use a good polishing for an exceptional gift. I have this style burner on my boat. It cast a bright but warm yellow light and chases the chill on the cool evenings. Great for your boat, cabin or mantle and not worry about your lighting needs when electricity fails. An added note, the round wick burners are made for lamp oil such as Lamplight Medallion (sold at Ace Hardware and elsewhere). The paraffin lamp oils will not burn well, may smell and give only 50% of the light. This is true of all but the smallest wicks."

I could not find out much about Brondberg & Tandrup. They were founded in 1889, headquartered in Copenhagen and were suppliers of lamps to the Danish Royal Navy. They may still be in business. Most sites date these lamps to the mid 20th century.

Thanks very much blunderbuss2, Hoot60, Thomas, fortapache, Jenni, ttomtucker, Karen, Kevin and Vynil33rpm!

I've decided to put this lamp back in working condition and find a wick for it. The quality of the light from these lanterns is supposed to be very good.
