Recently purchased chairs unknown age

Hello all
My wife has recently purchased these chairs which have obviously been re-upholstered and we're looking to do the same. The local owner couldn't tell us anything about them except they've been in the family for about 40yrs second hand, as you can see, they are on casters, both the front are ornate with the back ones being plain and straight legged. We're looking for hopefully some information on approximate age and wood so any of your experts out there, please could you let us know any information at all, or are they reproduction do you think?
