A pair of Kralik 'Jack in the Pulpit' vases. They are made in ruby opalescent glass with a green strip around the mantle perimeter. The pastel shading is pretty and typical of the Art Nouveau palette. They are 19 cms high and 17 cms across the mantle. They have a snapped pontil. Purchased cheaply from an on-line charity shop. Probably made in the early 20th century.
These JIP are gorgeous, and that's coming from someone who doesn't particularly like the shape.
OTT rims, stunning decor.
Your glass collection is amazing Russell!
Thanks for the generous comment racer4 four. Some of the 'Jack in the Pulpits' can be very bland and uninspiring in both their colour and shape. I think these are a tad better than the average. I do like that colour tone with the pale cranberry opalescence which fades to the green on the mantle edge. The shape of the mantle is quite eccentric if I may be so bold to say so. I was very glad to get them at a modest cost. It can be quite a different story if you don't have a bit of luck!
