I think that this a Webb piece. There is no signature on the bottom but the clue to this attribution is in the shape of the top petals which featured in many Webb designed items, both large and small. A desirable combination of cranberry opalescence, which is in an eccentric swirl around the bowl, and the vaseline band of tooled petals that would have supported it in a frame originally. The cranberry color is most prominent around the perimeter of the top, crimped projections. I've read that Webb always used an even number of crimps and this one has 16. The pontil is indented and polished. 13 cms wide at the top and 4.5 cms high. A very attractive Victorian commercial item which would grace any table.
