This is a Junghans anniversary style dome clock which uses a Hermle 791-681 14 day brass skeleton movement. Winding clocks are all about the movements they use and this is a pretty good one. I paid $10 for this clock at a thrift shop a few years ago, not expecting it to work, but it runs like a top and is in great condition. It even retained the original winding key which is often missing. I figured the best I was going to do was to get a spare glass dome but it was a pleasant surprise. It runs a bit fast, but I have never tried to adjust it, I just move the hands back a few minutes from time to time. This movement retails anywhere from $200-$400 depending on how good a deal you can get. I like this movement much more than a typical anniversary clock which uses a very fragile metal ribbon spring which is easy to break and, if you can find someone who will replace it, it is very expensive. I ditched all of my anniversary clocks years ago, except for one really high quality one that my parents gifted to me. My watchmaker won't even touch touch most anniversary clocks because most are junk. I like winders and have several dome, mantle and grandfather clocks. Not a fan of the quartz equivalents...

Another beauty. You may find interesting the book by Charles Terwilliger, The 400 Day Clock Repair Guide. Lots of background and history. I used to repair 400 day clocks and found it took an entirely different mindset compared to ordinary windup or weight driven clocks.

Thanks Congcu! I will see if I can locate a copy of the book you mention. Nice to have an expert opinion on this clock.

Thank you Bruce99! I was pretty happy with it, once I found it worked!
