Small Kralik floriform and a Loetz vase. The vaseline and pink frit splashed vase is a very interesting and many were made in this style. Blown in a quilted diamond mould and then the leaves added. Rough pontil shows a trace of opalescence. The leaves start off as clear glass where attached to the rim and then become pink. The smaller pieces of cranberry frit are sprinkled on to the upper surface of the projections. An appealing combination. Height is 10 cms and width is 10 cms at widest point. The vase is a delightful cool green. It has a smooth polished pontil and is quite heavy for its size. There is a faint design on the body and it has been used on other articles by this maker. There is a name for this decoration but I've forgotten it. You lovers of Bohemian glass would know it! It typically flashes iridescence when placed in the light - gold accents and purple. I find this color very soothing to the eye. Height 11 cms and 6 cms across the ruffles. Circa 1900 - 1905. Update - Small ruffled vase was made by Loetz. Decor is most likely 'Rusticana' according to experienced collectors.

The green iridescent vase is possibly an example of Loetz Creta Rusticana. There is a similar decor made by Kralik known as Sea Urchin, which I have an example of in my collection in a different shape. The reason I think yours may be Loetz is that the shape resembles a vase I have by Loetz in the Olympia decor. There are more experienced Loetz collectors out there that could confirm your vase for sure, but that's my guess anyway.
The petal top with frit decoration is pretty certain to be made by Kralik. Both are very attractive examples of Art Nouveau glass.

Thanks, IronLace for your informed opinion. I remember now that I've heard of that decor before. I've just checked a pair of jugs that I have and they have the same faint pattern on them as well and I will post pictures soon. I like that small vase very much - one of my favourites.

I'm always happy to help a fellow collector... :-)
This is my Kralik Sea Urchin vase:

Similar pattern to Loetz Rusticana in some ways, but it has the more defined vertical lines which Rusticana doesn't have. The Loetz decor looks more like a sort of faux wood effect with "knots" against a more irregularly patterned ground.
And this is my Loetz Olympia Glatt vase in a very similar shape to your vase:

      Kind regards,
      Marin.

You have two very tasty vases there, IronLace. I love the Bohemian green - and with a touch of iridescence, it makes it extra special! I'm keeping my eyes open for more examples. They are really worth collecting. Thanks again.

Saw that pink and floral Kralik glass piece, a really lovely example. Good for you!

The green vase also reminds me of a Loetz rusticana decor vase, seems to be a little more substantial and the upper rim is rounded and polished, another Loetz potential detail. Love it.

truthordare, thanks for your knowledgeable input on the Loetz vase. I looked at the websites you listed and they were very helpful. I love the colour tone and the simplicity of its design. It's a very tactile piece and I love holding it up to the light to appreciate the color changes. I'm happy to have it in my glass cabinet.

you are very welcome , I enjoy helping if I can by providing more documentation. This one was a good Loetz vase find, in a decor they used quite a bot, I also like this one very much, the simplicity and quality is pleasing. Thanks for posting.
