Lana Altavista Virginia step table, style no. 1024-07, serial no. 362206
I picked this up as a fixer-upper project. I believe it's missing a drawer and there are some small chips and dings in a few spots.
Can anyone confirm that you can read the manufacturing date from the serial no. (e.g. 362206 = June, 22, 1963)?
Any information on how common or rare these tables are/were?

You are right there would have been a shallow drawer facing front. Mine has two drawers side by side facing front. I also believe you are right on the reading of the serial number. It was stamped backward so reads from right to left rather than the normal left to right. I wouldn't call them rare as I know of a bunch of them that still exist.
