The flask (tokkuri) from this set is 5.5" high x 2.25 bottom diameter and the cups (ochoko) are 1.75" high x 2" top diameter x 1.25" bottom diameter. One cup has a chip on the rim. There is writing on the front and back of the flask, two different words, which is repeated on each cup. Each cup has a "Made in Japan" label on it and the flask has a diamond shaped gold foil label which says "D C Japan". It is very high fired porcelain and sounds like glass when the pieces bump one another. This was a $1.99 Goodwill find a few weeks ago.

The flask holds only 5 ounces (150 ml), so this is a very small sake set, indeed. Three of the cups hold as much as one of the sake cups I normally use. I have christened all of the cups but not the flask as I seldom drink even that small amount of sake at one sitting. I actually almost never use the flasks, pouring directly from the bottle into the cup, instead.

At first, when I looked at it at GW, I thought is was exported from Japan by Otagiri, as the labels look somewhat similar. No idea who DC was, if they were a Japanese exporter or American importer. For $2 I couldn't pass this set up. I see nothing to suggest which kiln made this set. I have found very few pieces with this label and the few things I did find were Satsuma style porcelain which looked to date from the 1950s-1960s.

Any information about this "DC Japan" label would be appreciated.
